COR Audits

A Certificate of Recognition (COR) is awarded through a voluntary program, which supports employers in establishing and maintaining an effective health and safety management system.

To obtain and retain a COR designation, employers must undergo audits to verify that their health and safety management system meets established standards. These standards are set by Partnerships in Injury Reduction (PIR) - a joint project of government, Certifying Partners, employers, and worker representatives.

Some benefits of COR to employers include:

  • A reduction in the social and financial costs of workplace injury and illness through improved health and safety.

  • More potential clients, as holding COR is often a requirement to bid on contracts.

  • Eligibility for Alberta WCB premium refunds of up to 20%.
